That could be pretty useful for the future as long as it's still protected from the elements. It's got to be warmer underground and probably safer too...

Are you sure you're not hurt, though? It sounds like you fell a fair way down.

If they are good at climbing back out. There is another table here that could be pushed down to help with that.
It could be used to catch monsters as well.

[That sounds like a great idea, right?]

Yeah! I'm fine. The table took the brunt of it.

You really think that might work? If you could climb out of it, don't you think that they would be able to as well?

[They seem to be pretty damn athletic so far, at least as far as Al has seen.]

But maybe the idea of trapping one is something we could think about more, it could only be helpful to be able to examine one closer.

I had to hop up a few times to reach it. Not sure if they're that smart yet.

[He'll probably find out after a few days how smart they have gotten since beacons get turned on. Nice knowing you, Al]

I'll keep an eye open for other places to trap them.

If we could fix something up to put over the top of the hole, like a wire meshing or something, maybe then it could work as a trap?

[But then the question of where to get that sort of material comes up.]

There is enough pieces of debris outside. We could use something from that.
I'll look for anything else we could use.

But, uh... I'm not so sure what we'll do with one when we've caught it, except that it's got to be useful, right?

Keeps eyes on it to see what it'll do.
Try feeding it some rations to see if it'll take that... or if there is any way to make it not turn us into chow.
If that fails, we find a way to kill them.

[He doesn't really like the idea of killing something once it's trapped and defenceless, at least not for a reason such as food, but he isn't foolish enough to believe there's another option.]

It would be helpful if we could catch one of the ones that look like things we know from home, then we could find out if that's a coincidence or if they're evolving that way on purpose.

[Why does Al keep surrounding himself with military trained guys?]

Think we should ask people to share descriptions of creatures from their world?

[He has to think about that for a moment, but it does seem like a good idea.]

Yeah, we probably should so that we know what we're looking out for. But we should make sure to do it sensitively, when they do look like that it can be pretty scary for those involved.

[Scary is an understatement. The image of that mother-creature eating Ed will live with him forever.]

Yeah, I think I saw that, but it looked more like they were questioning how dangerous they might be.
