[Al works for a second with his map and pen, before sending this to Lancer.]

If the place you're in says I was there on the seventh day, that means I was in one of the three houses I've circled. The store is to the north and east, I've circled that too.

[Finally, his organisation is paying off.]

[Except that's impossible because he was up there for the last few days and there totally wasn't a convenience store. He knows that because he walked through the park a few times, stomach quietly gurgling, checking out corpses and the like.]

That-

[But wait. Wait. The grass up there is clearly the park. And. The arrows line up with the other places where he saw various forms of AL WAS HERE. And- and it sounds like he's quietly dying on the other side.]

...how close is it to the park, kid?

[Al hasn't actually been through much of the park, but he's definitely seen evidence of it from nearby, and he can give a vaguely correct answer.]

Pretty near, why?

[He is a little put out that Lancer isn't being more thankful for some actual direction help in this place. He was so excited to help, damn it!]

[He really hates to do this. He really does. He'd like to play it suave and confident and not let on about the fact he realized he did something incredibly stupid. Be all bold and shit.

And yet he can't. And so, sounding like the admission's being torn out of him-]

There's silence for a moment or two, while Al struggles not to react too obviously to poor Lancer's mistake.]

Well, I guess that will make it easier to find now, huh? Plus you know the surrounding area really well, so we can use that when we're planning a base camp.

[croi]

[...that pitying silence from someone who sounds as young as Al does is...his ego hath taken a critical hit this day.

Sigh.

It's nothing he's not used to.]

Are you still going to cram us together in one huge camp?

Yeah.

[He still believes in strength by standing together, not to mention it being easier to pool their skills face to face. Though he has had to revise his initial plans, due to lack of supplies.]

I'm hoping to find enough houses within a day or two days from the store to comfortably fit everyone, and then volunteers can work on mapping the rest of the place and taking stores to stock up other houses in case of future need.

You sure are dedicated. Most people would've given up in your position and just tried to survive.

[...and just in case Al was about to get the wrong impression:] It's not a bad thing. [It's just a Thing.]
